  • June 2024: The pro's were excellent and the drills were very well thought out and organized

  • The staff- starting from the top and including the instructors. Besides their infinite patience and teaching skills, they were also extremely accommodating with a problem with my schedule conflict and gave me the opportunity for individualized teaching at Sea Colony. It was wonderul!!
  • The camp was very well run. All the participants were at the same playing level which made the experience beneficial. The coaches were extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
  • All the instructors were great! Alex, Jason, Mike, Chris, & Tim were wonderful coaches and made the camp so much fun, regardless of the skill level!

    Gene Cutter, PTR

    Co-Director

    Gene is a certified PTR professional and has been in the industry for over 23 years. He has worked with clients of all ages and levels and loves being on the court and watching his students grow not only in skill but in positivity as well. As a former Saddlebrook Senior Coach, Gene specialized in the high performance training of the Academy Kids who sought to turn professionals. He also was a hitting partner for visiting touring professionals like Martina Hingis, Jennifer Capriatti, Justine Henin to name a few. He was a regular hitting partner and coach for Marlene Weingartner in 2004. He worked with her before the 2004 French Open and she had her best run making it to the fourth round.

    Gene also was a head coach for the Jack Schore Academy program where he ran the fitness training as well as coaching and hitting with their national juniors. Gene also had his own high performance academy in both Allegany/ Garrett County and Frederick County where he had numerous juniors play all levels of college tennis from D1- D3. Gene's specialty is High Performance training, and uses his BioMechanical knowledge of the anatomy of a tennis player to help diagnose and correct issues that may be hindering a players best performance on the tennis court. Gene was a competitive player and has been rated 5.0/5.5. He enjoys helping all ages of players, become better and have fun along the way. Gene brings a positive energy to everything he does and focuses on making sure each student understands that anything is achievable with effort and positivity.

SUMMER CAMP SCHEDULE

  • Check-in: 1:00pm Friday
  • Check-out: 2:00pm Sunday
  • Daily Schedule: Friday 1:00pm-4:00pm, Saturday 1:00pm-4:00pm, Sunday 12:00pm-2:00pm

SKILL LEVELS & GROUP PLACEMENT

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. Participants are then sorted by ability first, then age per the Camp Director's discretion - adjustments are made as needed during camp.

While there are many ways to define skill levels, the following descriptions are what the Camp Directors at Nike Pickleball Camps will use to organize and group camp participants. At the time of registration, please choose the level that best represents your experience:

  • Beginner: Players at this level are new to pickleball and have little to no experience. They can hit basic shots and possess a fundamental understanding of the rules, scoring, and court positioning. Focus is on building confidence and familiarity with the game. (No rating or DUPR rating 3.0 and below)

  • Intermediate: Players at this level understand the rules and strategy of pickleball and can sustain rallies using a mix of shots. They can hit with some spin and accuracy, resulting in fewer unforced errors. Focus is on refining technique, improving court awareness, and developing strategic play. (DUPR rating 3.5+)

  • Advanced: Players at this level are proficient in all aspects of the game and employ advanced strategies. They exhibit strong footwork and a deep understanding of gameplay dynamics. This level focuses on competitive play, advanced shot-making, and tactical decision-making. (DUPR rating 4.0+)

EQUIPMENT, FACILITY & MORE

  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring a pickleball paddle, athletic shoes and a water bottle
  • Facility: Sea Colony Beach Resort was named 2012 USTA Facility of the Year. Click here to read more. With 34 courts, including indoor, outdoor, Har-Tru clay and hard courts, the tennis and pickleball facilities are a haven for tennis enthusiast throughout the region.
  • Inclement Weather Plan: Indoor courts are available for use as needed
  • Medical Protocol: In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED FORM

  • Please complete & submit the Sea Colony Waiver of Liability prior to camp. This is an additional form required by the facility and is required on top of the US Sports Camps forms. All US Sports Camps forms can be found and completed in the Customer Portal

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Cancellations made at least 7 days before the camp start date will result in a camp voucher for the full amount of tuition paid, valid through the following calendar year. This voucher is transferable to any family member and can be used for any sport.
  • Cash refunds will only be issued if Cancellation Protection was purchased at the time of registration.
  • Cancellations made within 7 days of the camp start date will receive a camp voucher for 50% of the tuition
  • No-shows (individuals who do not attend their registered session) will forfeit the full tuition payment.

ACCOMMODATIONS & TRAVEL

  • This is a Day Camp only; housing is NOT included in the camp tuition. Campers are responsible for arranging their own overnight accommodations if needed.
  • US Sports Camps, the Camp Director, camp staff, and the host facility are not liable for any travel-related arrangements, including but not limited to flights, hotels, Airbnbs, or rental cars.
  • We recommend booking refundable or flexible travel and accommodation options in case of any changes to the camp schedule.
