Field Hockey Tips: How to Stay Healthy
Practicing healthy habits is extremely important for athletes, especially during the flu season. The more healthy habits you can practice off the field, the easier it’ll be to stay ready to compete on the field! Check out some tips we practice at our Nike Field Hockey Camps.
Tip #1: Hygiene - Washing your hands before and after any field hockey practice, game, or camp is an easy way to limit spreading germs. When you're done competing, always wash down your equipment before reusing at your next game.
Tip #2: Field Hockey Equipment - Make sure you are only using your own personal equipment. Field Hockey sticks, gloves, masks, and all other equipment should not be shared between players. Any shared equipment, like the field hockey ball or cones, should always be wiped down after use.
Tip #3: Sports Wear - Although field hockey is an outdoor sport, it is important to make sure you are dressed accordingly. It is important to prepare for any extreme weather. If you anticipate an exceptionally cold day, make sure you leave the field bundled in warm clothing!
The tips above are a few simple ways to help players stay healthy during their season. To prepare for your next season or a field hockey day camp, check out more tips!
