5 Tips to Prepare for the Big Game

Nike Softball Camp Cal Lutheran Facility Hutton Field

Campers have the opportunity to play on Cal Lutheran's Hutton Field

The day before a game can be stressful sometimes. Making sure your uniform is all prepared, bat and glove are packed, and your lucky hair tie is ready to go. To ensure that you are ready for your top performance follow these simple steps the day before the game provided by Nike Softball Camp Director Kacey Schmitt.

  1. Hydrate
  2. Fuel your body the night before. Whole grain pasta is a great source of energy.
  3. Rehearse game scenarios. Know what to do in certain situations and where the ball should go.
  4. Visualize a great at bat. Imagine your bat staying on the plane and exploding out after contact.
  5. Know your opponent.
  6. Have fun and be confident. Remember, at the end of the day, it is just a game.

Use these softball tips tips during an overnight camp at Amherst College. Get better this summer with Nike Softball Camps.
