Join the University of Mary Washington Head Coach Jamie Tierney Harris this summer and improve alongside other athletes at our field hockey camp in Fredericksburg, VA. This camp offers girls ages 10-18 the opportunity to train, compete, and improve alongside other athletes who share their love for the game.
This girls field hockey summer camp in Virginia is open to players of all skills looking to elevate their abilities! Through a combination of drills and live gameplay, players can get a head start on the upcoming 2021 field hockey season.

- Early Drop-Off: This is available to purchase for $30 for all 4 days, 7am-9am. Fee includes supervision and activities.
- Late Pick-Up: This is available to purchase for $40 for all 4 days, 3:30pm-5pm. Fee includes supervision and activities.

CAMP PROGRAM
Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff and placed into groups based on age and ability level.
All Skills: This program is geared towards players of all abilities. The camp program includes stick work instruction & skills, technical & tactical training, offensive & defensive skills, and positioning work. Goalie-specific training is available as well.
ALL SKILLS DAY CAMP SCHEDULE
- Session I: June 28-July 1
- Session II: July 12-15
- Ages: Girls, ages 10-14
- Check-in: 8:30am-9:00am on Monday
- Check-out: 3:30pm on Thursday
- Daily Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-3:30pm
- Lunch: Lunch is not provided. Please bring a sack lunch each day.
MORNING INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED CAMP SCHEDULE
- Session I: June 28-July 1
- Session II: July 12-15
- Ages: Girls, ages 14-18
- Check-in: 8:30am-9:00am on Monday
- Check-out: 12:00pm on Thursday
- Daily Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00am-12:00pm
- *If you plan on attending the afternoon session as well, please bring a lunch to camp. Campers will be supervised from 12:00pm-12:30pm.
AFTERNOON INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED CAMP SCHEDULE
- Session I: June 28-July 1
- Session II: July 12-15
- Ages: Girls, ages 14-18
- Check-in: 12:00pm-12:30pm on Monday
- Check-out: 3:30pm on Thursday
- Daily Hours: Monday-Thursday, 12:30pm-3:30pm
- Lunch: Lunch is not provided, please eat before you arrive.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
- Lunch: Lunch is not provided.
- Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
- Camp Gear: All campers receive a STX package (reversible jersey, ball, lanyard) and other fun prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience
- Equipment Needed: Hockey stick, water bottle, mouth guard, shin guards, turf shoes (goalies must bring full goalie protective equipment)
- Inclement Weather Plan: In the case of a cancelled day due to rain, Friday will be used as a make up day.
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
TEAM DISCOUNT
If you have a group of eight or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper is eligible for a discount. Please have someone contact the US Sports Camps office at 1-800-645-3226 with the names of each camper in the group and we will create a unique discount code for your group. Campers may then register individually through the website at their convenience and apply the offer code during check out. *Discount amount varies by program. Please call for details.
INFORMATION PACKET
A detailed Information Packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms may require a doctor's signature (please reference your info packet). All required forms will be collected on the first day of camp.
Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

- 9:15-11:30am Skills and small game tactics
- 11:30am-12:15pm Lunch
- 12:15-12:45pm Lecture and demonstration
- 1:00-3:30pm Drills, games, and scrimmaging
- 3:30pm Campers depart
- 6:00pm Late pick-up campers depart
The Fredericksburg Field House is Central Virginia’s premier indoor artificial turf facility covering over 75,000 square feet. This facility is fully air conditioned and offers a full outdoor field to utilize as well.
Camp Questions & Answers
CAN I SIGN UP FOR MORE THAN 1 SESSION/PROGRAM?
Absolutely! Campers are encouraged to attend multiple sessions. Each program delivers something unique to help players excel in all areas of the game. Many campers will attend more than one session to further refine their skills, compete against new players, or choose a session with a different program focus.
