Director Tracy Hellman
Under the direction of Coach Hellman, Augustana’s cross country and track & field programs have developed a rich tradition at the national level.View Tracy's Bio ⟩
Coach Hellman came to Augustana University in 2000 and since then has helped the Vikings produce 14 top-10 finishes in cross country, including the 2011 women’s national championship team.
On the track, Augustana has produced four individual national champions and one relay title. In total, the Vikings have earned 124 All-American honors during Hellman’s tenure.
The 2011 USTFCCCA Division II National Coach of the Year will look to impart his knowledge and expertise at this year’s Augustana Running Camp, providing campers with a full range of lessons to help take their running to the next level.
Assistant Coach Scott Tanis
Coach Tanis joined Augustana University's staff in 2014 and serves as the program's assistant distance coach and recruiting coordinator.View Scott's Bio ⟩
Coach Tanis is responsible for designing the cross country team's strength training and will provide several lectures on the topic during this year's camp.
Prior to his time at Augustana, Tanis was a volunteer assistant coach at Duke University.
The Nike Augustana University Cross Country Camp is designed to further each runner's knowledge on training, injury prevention, nutrition, strength training, and recovery. Campers will run in the Big Sioux Rec Area, Yankton Trail Park, Spellerburg Park and more!
2018 Session Information
Check-in: Sunday at 12:00 pm at Granskou Hall (28th & Walts).
Check-out: Wednesday from 11:00-12:00 pm at Granskou Hall (28th & Walts).
Room & Board: Campers stay on-campus in dorms within walking distance to dining halls. Two campers per room. Dorms are air-conditioned. All meals are provided at camp. Campers may bring extra snacks for their dorm room.
What to Bring: Running shoes, training clothes, spending cash, swimsuit, water bottle, personal toiletry items and bedding (residential campers only).
Group Discounts: If four or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $30 discount. Please have a team contact reach out directly to the USSC office at 1-800-645-3226 to receive a discount code to identify your group. Campers may then register through the website at their convenience and apply the coupon code during check-out.
