Soccer Tip
Utilize the outside of your foot to score

Putting curve on the ball with the inside of the foot comes naturally. What about the outside of your foot? Soccer fans will remember Roberto Carlos free kick in the 1997 Tournoi de France, where he used the outside of his foot to curve a free kick past the French keeper. Nike Soccer Campers can expect to learn skills like this at camp this summer.
Line up
It is best to practice this kick while the ball is in place. Start a few paces behind the ball. As you approach the ball keep your toes pointed and a strong ankle.
Follow through
Swing your leg through the ball, aim slightly wide of the target. Connect with the middle of the ball. As your leg and foot follow through on the ball you will generate curve. Contrary to what most think the curve is not generated by hitting the outside of the ball.
Use the laces
Hit the ball with your shoe laces. You should look to connect with the ball just to the right or left of the shoe laces depending on which foot you use. Remember if you use all outside foot, you will likely shank the ball.
