Westy has over 10 years of experience operating youth programs and has designed the Next Athletes programs with the purpose of providing a truly memorable, sport development experience for each child. Westy is a Positive Coaching Alliance certified coach, Level II U.S. Kids Golf Certified Coach, and specializes in volleyball, soccer, golf, and football.

Conner Schmidt enters his second season with the Thunderbirds in 2023, after helping lead the Thunderbirds to a 14-3-2 season. 2023 saw the Thunderbirds ranked inside the top 20 all season, with a First Team All-American, Freshman of the Year, and Defender of the Year. Schmidt graduated from Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa, with a degree in sports management in 2017. He spent three seasons with the Warriors as a defender, appearing in 25 games while totaling seven points and placing 11 shots on target.

Before venturing to Iowa, Schmidt spent one season with Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California, in 2012. He also served stints at the semi-professional level as a member of the clubs Electric City Shock from 2017-2018 and Alta Cal Sol in 2021.

Before joining the Thunderbirds’ coaching ranks, Schmidt served as an assistant coach for Allan Hancock College, which included the role of interim head coach for two games in 2021. Schmidt served as the assistant coach for the Lompoc High School varsity girls’ soccer team in 2020 and the Cabrillo High School varsity and junior varsity boys’ soccer teams in 2018-2020. He was also involved in several youth camps and club programs in Iowa.

Baker is entering his 11th season as head coach of the C of I men's soccer program and has a career record of 69-79-6. Under Baker, 18 Coyote players have earned All-Cascade Conference honors; 26 players have earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors; and 43 players have been named to the CCC All-Academic team. Baker has led the Yotes to six playoff appearances in his first eight years as head coach. In 2013, he led the team to the CCC Championships, advancing to the semifinals, before a tough 1-0 double-overtime loss to eventual champion, Corban. In 2015, his squad lost in the CCC quarterfinals, 3-1, to eventual champion, Rocky Mountain; while in 2017, the Yotes dropped an overtime 1-0 decision to regular-season champion, Southern Oregon, in the CCC quarterfinals. Last season, C of I qualified as the No. 4 seed and lost to No. 5 seed Southern Oregon, 2-1. His Yotes have defeated one Top-25 team - a 2-1 victory over No. 23 ranked Rocky Mountain in 2014, along with a 1-0 victory over NCAA Division II Dominican University. His 2014 team became the first C of I squad to score at least five goals in a match on three separate occasions, including seven goals in wins over Oregon Tech and Corban. Baker returned to the College after 12 seasons as a local high school coach at both Vallivue and Bishop Kelly High Schools. At Vallivue High, his squads posted a 96-48-12 overall record and five trips to the state tournament, including second-place finishes in both 2001 and 2002. From 2010-12, his BKHS teams posted a 35-21-7 record, including a second-place finish in the 2010 4A state tournament. A 1995 graduate of the College, Baker played from 1990-93 under longtime head coach John Calpin, and played alongside current C of I Director of Soccer, Brian Smith. He has also spent the past 13 years as a top official of NCAA and NAIA soccer games in the Western U.S. He and his wife, Stephanie, have two children - Cole and Taylor, and reside in Boise.

Andres has a great deal of experience coaching soccer camps of all age groups and levels for the past six years. Andres played varsity soccer all four years at Walla Walla High School (Wa-Hi) and played at the collegiate level at Walla Walla Community College. Andres has also played on the Walla Walla Stars semi-professional team for the past year. In his second year as a sophomore at Wa-Hi, Andres made second team all-state and led his team to the state championship for the very first time in school history. That season, Andres scored 17 goals (the most in the Mid-Columbia Conference). During his junior year, he was “Player of the Year” and led his team and conference with most goals again with 19. At WWCC he led the team with most goals (11) and also led them to the NWAC Finals. He played for Three Rivers Soccer Club in the tri-cities for two years and went to the state championships both years and led the team with the most goals, 23 (first year) and 19 (second year).

Hope is a former Division I and semi-professional soccer player and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a high-level athlete. Hope works with many families and youth sports organizations to help their athletes take control over the most important part of the game, the game played in between the ears! Hope works with kids of all ages.

Scott brings to the table over 32 years of marketing expertise and a passion for helping student-athletes fulfill their dreams. His mission originated from a personal journey with his son’s athletic recruitment. Despite hiring six well-known brands in the recruiting world, his son had no offers or scholarships as he entered his senior year of high school. Fueled by a steadfast belief in his son’s potential and his own marketing acumen, Scott took the recruitment process into his own hands. In a short span, his son went from zero offers to over 26 offers and $1.1 million in scholarship opportunities. Scott’s innovative approach involved a high-level exposure program and an athlete branding program, ensuring that each student-athlete’s skills and potential were showcased to the fullest. When the world turned on its head with the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Scott saw an opportunity to support other talented athletes facing similar struggles. His unique recruitment strategy resonated with families across the entire country, leading to the successful recruitment of over 400 athletes from coast to coast.

Peter Ozolin is a successful entrepreneur who has made it his mission to help student-athletes realize their full potential, both on and off the field. With a rich background in business leadership and a deep passion for mentoring, Peter brings a unique set of skills to the world of athletic recruiting. Throughout his career, Peter has consistently shown an ability to identify potential and foster growth. From his early days as a tech entrepreneur to his time leading Manzama, a leading provider of news and media aggregation tools, he has always been guided by a deep-seated desire to help others succeed. This desire, combined with his entrepreneurial mindset and marketing expertise, has led him to the world of athletic recruiting. Peter’s journey started with his family’s personal experience. When his son embarked on the high school recruiting process, Peter applied his business marketing knowledge and strategic thinking to the task, leading to a multitude of offers. This experience underscored the transformative impact that targeted marketing and strategic planning can have on an athlete’s recruiting journey. Inspired by this success, and the opportunity to make a major impact in young athletes’ lives, Peter began helping other student-athletes achieve similar outcomes. Peter leverages his entrepreneurial acumen to drive athletes forward into the future. Peter’s promise is to give his best to every athlete and parent he works with.

Lindsey is a Certified Athletic Trainer at Westminster University in Salt Lake City, where she primarily helps with the Women’s Basketball team. She is originally from Arizona. She attended Southern Utah University where she received her Bachelor of Exercise Science Degree. Upon graduation, she attended the University of Utah, earning her Master of Athletic Training degree. She has a passion for helping athletes achieve their full potential and watching them succeed at what they love doing. In her free time, she loves to read, be outside, hike, camp, and spend time with her loved ones.
