What is the payment and cancellation policy for the Nike Sport Camps?

Refunds will only be given if you purchase the $35 Cancellation Protection and cancel prior to your balance due date. Cancellation refund insurance is charged per individual session and is due at the time of registration.

Otherwise, if you have to cancel for any reason, you will receive a camp “voucher” for all camp tuition payments made, valid through 2014. Your camp voucher can be applied to the same type of "sport" camp you originally registered for.  Vouchers are transferable to an immediate family member. 

In the unlikely event USSC cancels a Nike Sport Camp session, a full refund for camp registration fees will be provided. Camper waives any and all damages that may otherwise arise out of any camp cancellation

What do I need to do to register for a Nike Sport Camp?

International campers are welcome to attend any of our camps providing they:

  • Meet the camp eligibility requirements, ie age etc,
  • Have the proper credentials to enter the US - in some cases this is a US VISA. 
  • Register and pay the necessary deposits
  • Pay their final camp balances at least one month prior to camp.

What type of Visa is required to attend a Nike Sport or US Sport Camp?

What if I am from a VISA waiver country - what do I need to do?

The Visa Waiver Program (VWP) allows citizens of participating countries* to travel to the United States without a visa for stays of 90 days or less, when they meet all requirements explained below. Travelers must be eligible to use the VWP and have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel. Citizens of Canada and Bermuda generally do not need visas for tourism and visits.

How can I request a VISA letter?

USSC does not issue any VISA letters.  We offer an invitation letter that may be useful in helping obtain a VISA into the US.  This letter simply confirms that a child is formally registered in one of our Nike Sports Camp and the dates that they are attending.   In order to request an invitation letter - Please send an email to international@ussportscamps.com and include child’s full name and confirmation number.  Invitation letters are usually processed within 48 hours and are sent by email to the email listed on the camp confirmation.  We do not provide any other documentation than this.

What if my child is unable to get a VISA and I have registered for camp?

We recommend that all international campers purchase cancellation insurance of $35 per session.  Providing you cancel prior to the balance due date (usually 30-45 days prior to the start of camp.) we will refund your tuition fees, less the registration fee and the cancellation insurance fee. (See cancellation and payment terms above.)

What is included in the camp tuition?

Each multi-week session includes tuition for sport only or/+ sport + language programs, housing, meals and weekend program (including activites) for the duration of your camp. Round-trip airport transfers are also included, unless noted.

When should we make our flight arrangements to arrive at camp?

Please make travel arrangements to arrive the same day as your camp start date. We are aware that you may have limited selection in your arrival and departure times, but generally please try to have your camper arrive between 11am – 2pm  (the majority of our camp check-in times are between 1-4PM)  on first day of camp.  Regarding departure, please refer to your regpack for the check-out time and try to schedule your flight depart  between 3-4 hours after check-out on final day. Campers may arrive early or stay later with approved permission, but an additional night fee will be charged to the camper’s fee. Generally, an extra night fee will range from $100-$125 per night.

How can I guarantee my child is scheduled for a pickup?

All camps that offer pickup service include a travel form in the regpack.  Please complete the form and send it back to mailto:international@ussportscamps.com as soon as they have arranged their flights.  All pickups must be scheduled three weeks prior to camp.   Please note, USSC contracts airport transportation services for campers, on the parents behalf, and does so merely as an accommodation and convenience .  Accordingly, USSC and Nike, Inc. take no responsibility for any negligence or wrongdoing of the transportation service. You should undertake as you feel necessary any due diligence regarding the contracted transportation service, and USSC and Nike, Inc., makes no warranty in that regard.

What is an unaccompanied minor?

Unaccompanied minors are usually under the age of 15. They need to be escorted/supervised by airline staff, during and after the flight.  Airlines charge an additional fee of $100-150 per leg for this service.  (Charged by airlines, not USSC.)   Parents must sign up for this or their child will not be allowed to fly.

Can USSC pick up unaccompanied minors?

Yes, but we need to be notified that your camper is flying as an unaccompanied minor.  Once the child has been processed through immigration/customs, the camper will be met by either awaiting camp staff/or a licensed driver hired by parents to meet the kids just outside of customs.   The driver must be the designated pickup person for the unaccompanied child.  (Airlines request this information when the flight is made.  We can only provide the driver  information - name/telephone/DL number - 24 hours prior to flights.)

Do I need to have medical insurance valid in the US to participate in a US Sports camp?

YES. All international campers must provide proof of medical insurance in the US.  If you need to purchase supplemental health insurance, USSC offers Nike Sport Campers a supplemental health and medical insurance policy for $50 (for a 30 day period) through Seven Corners Insurance.  Please see the website for details. To register for this, please complete the attached application and send it back to international@ussportscamps.com. We will add the $50 charge to your child’s tuition.
