Nike Volleyball Camps is proud to announce an overnight camp in Southern California at Soka University.
Soka University offers the finest facilities, staff, and a superior instructional method that will bring your game to another level!
This program is available to players of all ability levels. Here, you'll master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain valuable game play experience. Every aspect of the game is covered, giving you a solid foundation to build upon after camp.

Soka University is located in Orange County, 15 minutes from Laguna Beach. The beautiful campus offers three indoor courts as well as an ourdoor sand court.

Camp Director
Valinda Roche
Valinda has a true love for coaching and playing volleyball. As a walk on at the University of Wyoming she earned a full ride scholarship, captained her team for two years and was a three time All Conference selection 1984,85, 87 in the WAC (Western Athletic Conference). College was just the beginning, she moved to Southern California to pursue more volleyball, playing on an Elite, Club team that toured and competed with the Canadian National team for three years.
Beach volleyball was a logical move for Valinda, living on the coast. She was nominated Rookie of the year in 1992 in her first year playing Professional Beach Volleyball on the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals). She built on that to play 13 years Professionally, with mostly top 10 finishes! She won the Jose Cuervo Championship in 1992, 93 and 2005, winning the Motherlode (largest tournament in the world) 1992, 93, 97. Winning many FIVB international title's in Korea and Mexico,
Valinda was Misty May's very first partner on the beach! May was a 3 time Olympic gold medalist in beach volleyball.
Valinda has a passion for coaching indoor and beach volleyball. She coach 4 years of club volleyball at Newport Beach Volleyball Club, and has coached beach camps and clinics year around for 20 years.She specializes in preparing many athletes, physically and mentally for tryouts and high level volleyball competition.
Living in Huntington Beach, Valinda is happily married to Mark Roche and has 2 son's, Blaze and Tanner.

The NIKE Volleyball camp at Soka University provides campers with top quality instruction plus:
Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided. Day campers (9am-5pm- except on the first and last day): Lunch is not provided. Campers are to bring a sack lunch or they may purchase lunch on campus.
Volleyballs: Baden Volleyballs may be purchased when you register for camp for an additional $15. Volleyballs must be paid for at the time of registration. Campers do not need to bring a ball to camp and purchasing one is optional.
