Join Head Coach James Finley at Seattle University for an outstanding Nike Volleyball Camp experience.

July 15-17, Advanced Overnight:

The Advanced program is recommended for high school varsity and club players with a commitment to the sport and the ability and motivation to play at the college level. This intense and challenging program stresses position play, advanced team techniques and physical conditioning.

July 18-19, All Skills Day Camp/Little Redhawks:

The All Skills Day programs are open to girls of any ability level. You'll master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain valuable game play experience.

Little Redhawks (9am-11am): This camp is designed to introduce the sport to young players ages 6-10.  Little Redhawks will train on an indoor turf facility, utilizing a lower net and a larger, lighter ball. Please note, before and after care is not avaiable for this session.  Parents are welcome to stay and watch.

July 19-21, High School Team Day Camp:

Get better together! The team camp helps players improve their strategies, gain match play experience and enhance overall team unity. Teams are encouraged to register together to prepare for the upcoming season.  Individuals are welcome to attend and are placed on a team for the duration of the camp.  *Please note the hours of this camp vary day to day.  For more information, click the details tab.

Attention Coaches: Bring a team of a eight or more players and we will pay you for coaching your team.  Call for details.

Early drop off and late pick up are available during the week days.  Campers can arrange to be dropped off at 7:45 am and picked up no later than 5pm, Monday-Friday. Does not apply to the Little Redhawks camp.

Camp Director

James Finley

James Finley is the new head volleyball coach of the Seattle University Redhawks, effective Feb. 1, 2013.

Finley served as head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University for eight years, compiling a 151-116 (.566) record from 2005 to 2012. He led the Rams to four conference championship matches, including the 2005 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) tournament title that advanced VCU into the NCAA Tournament. 

In 2012, Finley oversaw the team's transition to the Atlantic-10 Conference, where the Rams posted a 10-4 league record as part of a 25-6 overall mark, finishing third in the 12-team league before falling in the conference tournament semifinals. VCU excelled both on the court and in the classroom, finishing third in the country in blocking (3.10 blocks per set) and combining for a 3.2 team grade point average.

Finley went to VCU from Arizona Western College, where he served as head coach from 2001 to 2005, compiling a 137-37 (.787) record over four seasons. The team was ranked in the top 10 nationally all four years using players he recruited from the United States, Brazil, and Europe. He had been the assistant coach at UTEP for two seasons before heading to Arizona Western.

A high school volleyball coach from 1992 to 1999, Finley has run his own volleyball camps since 1995. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross State University in 1983 and has been an instructor at Texas A&M University, Arizona Western College, and El Paso Community College.

The NIKE Volleyball camp at Seattle University provides campers with top quality instruction plus:

Session I: July 15-17

Advanced Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.

Advanced Extended Day campers (9am-9pm- times vary on the first and last day of camp): Lunch and dinner is provided.

Session II: July 18-19

All Skills Day campers (9am-4pm): Lunch is not provided, campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day.

Little Redhawks (9am-11am): Lunch is not provided, campers depart before lunch time.

Session III: July 19-21

Team campers (July 19th 6pm-9pm, July 20th 9am-5pm, July 21 9am-1pm): Lunch is not provided, campers are asked to bring a sack lunch each day.

Early Arrivals/Late Departures:  Campers may arrange to be dropped off as early as 7:45am and picked up no later than 5:00pm on camp days that fall between Monday and Friday.
