Nike Volleyball Camps is proud to offer two programs at Webster University this summer directed by Head Coach Merry Graf.

Whether you are a beginner or a high school athlete thinking of taking your game to the next level, a camp session at Webster University fits your needs. Both sessions consist of small training groups based on skill level. Coach Graf has designed these programs to benefit players at any stage with individualized training, full scrimmages, and fun games.

Merry Graf completed her 14th season as the head women's volleyball coach at Webster University in 2014.

The Gorloks won the SLIAC Tournament, advancing to the NCAA Division III Championships for the seventh time under Graf's guidance.  In 2013, the team went 16-2 in the SLIAC and finished 26-9 overall on the season. The 26 wins broke the school record for most wins in a season for volleyball.

Coach Graf has been named the SLIAC Coach of the Year four times (2005,2007, 2011 and 2012.) Her record in the SLIAC is a stellar 168-25 and her career record overall at Webster is 265-136.  She has coached 57 SLIAC All-Conference nominees, six SLIAC Newcomers of the Year, three Defensive Players of the Year and a two SLIAC Players of the Year.

Prior to Webster, Graf spent five seasons as the head volleyball coach at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  Graf has coached high school and USA Juniors volleyball teams in the area as well.

She graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and has a Masters of Education in Kinesiology from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She is also a USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) Level II Coach. Graf was a standout collegiate athlete in softball and volleyball, earning the Millikin University's Best Blocker Award and setting a record for most hits, going 5-5 in a softball game.  
 

Camp Details

All Skills: This program is open to players of all ability levels.  Here you’ll master the fundamentals, develop proper mechanics and gain game play experience.  Every aspect of the game is covered, giving you a solid skill foundation to build upon after camp.

Advanced: This program is designed for advanced players looking to continue their volleyball career in college. The sessions are longer, more intense, and have an added focus on strength and conditioning. This camp is for girls currently playing at the high school varsity level and club volleyball level. A letter of recommendation from your varsity or club coach is encouraged for campers who attend this session.

A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the Spring. Our health and release forms do not require a doctor's signature and they will be collected on the first day of camp.

What's included in the fee? 

Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.

Extended Day campers (9am-9pm -except first and last day): Lunch and dinner are provided.

24-hour supervision is an important feature of every NIKE Volleyball Camp. Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.

Volleyballs:  Molten Volleyballs may be purchased when you register for camp for an additional $15. Volleyballs must be paid for at the time of registration. Campers do not need to bring a ball to camp and purchasing one is optional.

Session One: All Skills July 5-8, 2015

  • Check-in: Overnight campers check-in between 12:00-12:30pm and Extended Day campers check-in between 1:30-2:00pm on Sunday July 5th
  • Check-out: graduation is at 12:00pm on Wednesday July 8th
  • Extended Day Camper Schedule: Sunday 1:30-9:00pm, Monday & Tuesday 9:00am-9:00pm, Wednesday 9:00am-12:00pm

Session Two: High Potential 8-10, 2015

  • Check-in: Overnight campers check-in between 2:00-2:30pm and Extended Day campers check-in between 3:30-4:00pm on Wednesday July 8th
  • Check-out: graduation is at 12:00pm on Friday July 10th
  • Extended Day Camper Schedule: Wednesday 3:30-9:00pm, Thursday 9:00am-9:00pm, Friday 9:00am-12:00pm

INSTRUCTION

Ratio: 1:10
Players Grouped by: Age and Ability Level. A general skills evaluation will take place on the first day of camp (coaches observe and evaluate player ability levels through specific drills or informal game play)
Evaluation: Written by coaching staff
Equipment Needed: Players should supply their own knee-pads and have at least one pair of well broken-in Volleyball (court) shoes.
Facility:  Indoor Volleyball courts at the University Center-Lower Level

HOUSING

Dorm: TBA
Campers Per Room: 2
Roommates: guaranteed if requested 14 days prior to camp
Bathrooms: shared
Linens: Not provided
Air Conditioning: Yes (dorms and gym)
Key Deposit: $65 fee if key is lost or damaged
Spending Money: $30
Medical Facility: an athletic trainer is on-site and a doctor is on-call for emergencies
Extra Activities: Swimming, bring swim suit and towel 

Team Discount

 If eight or more campers register together, as a group by mail or fax, each camper will receive a $30 discount. Click “Get Brochure” above and print the application. All applications must be received at the same time via mail or fax. If all members of your group pay with a Visa or MasterCard, feel free to fax your applications to 415-479-6061 to expedite processing. Late or individual registrations are not eligible to receive the group discount.  Discount does not apply to team only camps.

Work on all aspects

I think that Nike volleyball camp is a great way to spend your summer. You can play with your friends and meet new people, all while improving your game. I saw significant improvement in my playing from the beginning to the end of this camp. It also works on all aspects of your game, so that you can become a well rounded player. Very Fun

Loved the camp and all the coaches! The Webster players were there and played right beside us. They gave us pointers and told us about college life. The dorm room was nice. Very fun!
