Nike Junior Golf Camps
The Ranch Club in Missoula, MT, plays host to two Nike Junior Golf Camps this summer. Join University of Montana Women's Golf Coach, Matt Higgins, and Montana Golf Hall of Fame member, Mike Barnett, for an incredible week of instruction and fun.
All Skills Camp
The Ranch Club offers both full and half day camps during Session I from Monday through Friday. Full Day Camp (ages 9-15) runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm and includes morning instruction, lunch and afternoon course play. Half Day Camp (ages 7-13) runs from 9:00am to 12:00pm and includes fifteen hours of total range instruction. Strong emphasis is placed on the fundamentals—stance, grip, posture, full swing, rules & etiquette. The camp has a low camper to instructor ratio to ensure every camper receives attention from the staff.
High School Players Camp
For the high school golfer (ages 14 - 18) looking to take the next step, be it moving up the ladder or competing in the college ranks some day. The camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm and includes morning instruction, lunch and course play each day. All aspects of the game are covered including full swing, short game, putting, course management, sports psychology, nutrition, physical fitness, NCAA workshop, and the recruiting process. There will also be a Q&A session for campers and parents on last day of camp!

Camp Director Matt Higgins
Matt Higgins is in his second year as Head Golf Coach at the University of Montana. Coach Higgins has spent over 17 years coaching in college athletics, most of those spent at Concordia University-St. Paul.View Matt Higgins's Bio ⟩
While at Concordia, he led the men's program to a pair of regional championship appearances and the women’s program to seven consecutive NCAA Central Region Tournaments including two NCAA national championship appearances. His women’s team captured an NSIC Women’s Golf Championship in 2008-2009. He also has had six individual regional qualifiers (3 men, 3 women) and two individuals advance to the NCAA National Championships. Higgins teams also were a model for success in the classroom. His program earned five NGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Awards, ranking in the Top-25 each time including three times as the top-ranked Division II program.
Coach Higgins is a two time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Coach of the Year. He also served 5 years on the NCAA National Women’s Golf Committee and was elected as the National Chair of Division II Women’s Golf from 2011-2014. He has planned, organized and administered multiple NCAA national and regional championships as well as many camps and clinics.

Mike Barnett is currently the PGA teaching professional at The Ranch Club during summer months. During winter time, he serves as Director of Instruction at Bear Creek in Chandler Arizona. Mike’s name is synonymous with Missoula golf. Barnett was a golfing wunderkind, winning three state high school championships for Missoula Sentinel. He was the Montana State Amateur runner up in 1967, at the young age of 15, and captured back-to-back State Amateur titles in 1974 and 1975 while playing for Arizona State. In addition to his teaching experience in Montana, Mike worked for more than a decade with the John Jacobs golf schools in Michigan, Alabama and Arizona.

Brittany Bayse is the Head Women’s Golf Coach for Montana State University. She has been with the Bobcats for 13 seasons. Prior to MSU, Basye competed in the Players West Women's Mini Tour, which traveled throughout the United States. She also had the privilege of competing in the US Women's Open Championship in 1995 and the US Women's Amateur Championship in 1993 where she was a semifinalist. Coach Basye is a 1995 graduate of the University of New Mexico, where she was a scholarship student-athlete for the Lobos. In 1994, she was the medalist at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament and went on to be named the WAC Player of the Year and earn first team all-conference honors.
Coach Michael Lewis

Mike Lewis is the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach for Upper Iowa University. Upper Iowa is a Division II school in the Northern Sun Conference, located in Fayette, IA. He is also the Golf Teaching Professional and co-owner of Edgewater and Hickory Grove Golf Courses in Oelwein, Iowa. Coach Lewis was awarded conference coach of the year in 2015. As a player, Lewis was an All-Missouri Valley Conference performer as a junior and senior winning four NCAA Division I tournaments. He was also a member of the Waterloo West High School’s state championship team in the fall of 1997 and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 1999. Lewis has also won five professional tournaments.

Adam is a highly accomplished amateur golfer who works for Nationwide Insurance full time and part-time assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s Golf programs at Arkansas Tech University. For the past two years Adam has also worked as a professional caddy on the Symetra Tour as well as the LPGA. Anderson has also spent the last six years giving individual swing instruction.

A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the spring.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 8:50am Campers check-in
- 9:00am Warm-up, demonstrations, campers break off into groups
- 9:15am Morning instruction - rotate stations working on putting, chipping, pitching, full swing
- 12:00pm Half Day campers depart, Full Day campers have lunch
- 1:00pm On course instruction focusing on course management, shot/club selection, rules and etiquette (Full Day Camp only)
- 4:00pm Full Day campers depart
The Ranch Club
Unparalleled links golf is the centerpiece of The Ranch Club experience. This Les Furbur designed course takes you along curving hillsides and around remarkable water features. The course itself was designed to not disrupt the natural setting providing unobstructed views of the Missoula valley in all directions.
