Klosterman was named coach of the year for the second-straight year, guiding the Bulldogs to victories over Big 12-member UCF and NCAA Regional participants Binghamton, Rhode Island and Northeastern. Bryant featured the America East Player of the Year for the second-straight season as Drew Wyers earned the honors after producing the third .400 season in DI program history. The Black and Gold also took home the rookie of the year award for the first time since 2018 as Michael Belcher was awarded for his dominance on Friday nights. In all, nine Bulldogs were named to the All-America East First or Second team.

The 2024 season saw Klosterman take the Black and Gold back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. Klosterman was named America East Coach of the Year and Co-New England Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to a 36-21 overall record, an America East Regular Season Title and an America East Tournament Title. The Bulldogs recovered from a 1-7 start to win 35 of their final 49 games. Bryant placed 11 players on All-America East teams, the most in the league since 2012. That group was led by America East Player of the Year Gavin Noriega, a senior who hit a single-season program record 18 home runs.

In 2023, Klosterman guided the Black and Gold into the America East. The Bulldogs would finish 26-24, earning the No. 4 seed in the America East Tournament. Bryant defeated a nationally-ranked opponent (No. 14 Virginia Tech) for the second-straight year and also went 14-2 at home. Klosterman had four players earn All-America East honors (Derek Smith, Jake Gustin, Brett Wichrowski and Zac Zyons), while Jake Gustin wrapped up one of the best careers in program history under Klosterman's watch. The Bulldogs advanced to the NEC Championship Round for the third-straight year, falling in the winner-take-all game seven. Bryant featured the NEC Player of the Year for the second-straight season as Matt Woods took home the crown. In addition, the Bulldogs placed five on the All-NEC team.

Klosterman was named the 2021 Northeast Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to their ninth consecutive regular-season title. Bryant also advanced to the Championship Round of the NEC Tournament for the sixth time in program history in 2021. Bryant ranked 12th nationally in batting average, 12th in scoring, 11th in ERA, third in shutouts and 27th in K:BB ratio. Liam McGill finished the season as the nation's leader in batting average (.471) and OBP (.541), earning NEC Player of the Year and All-America honors. Klosterman's second season also saw the continuation of Bryant's development of professional players. Following the season, Mattison became the highest drafted player in program history when he was taken in the fourth round (104th overall) by the Detroit Tigers. McGill was drafted in the ninth round (277th overall) by the Atlanta Braves, while Tyler Schoff signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Nationals.

His first season as a collegiate head coach was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The Bulldogs finished the year 4-11, winning each of its last two games against Western Carolina. Bryant's schedule also featured a pair of Power 5 schools in Maryland and Virginia Tech. Despite the shortened season, the Bulldogs were able to steal 39 bases, finishing the season ranked sixth nationally in stolen bases per game and eighth in total stolen bases. Bryant was the only team to feature three players within the top 50 of stolen bases per game.

Klosterman came to Smithfield after serving as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at UCF. In eight seasons, Klosterman produced four nationally-ranked recruiting classes (2013, 2014, 2015, 2018) and helped the Knights to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances (2012, 2017).

He spent eight years playing minor league baseball, most recently at the Triple-A level for the New Orleans Zephyrs of the Florida Marlins Organization before retiring and coming to UCF.

Klosterman played collegiately at both Clemson and Vanderbilt. In his junior season with the Commodores, Klosterman was named to the All-SEC First Team as a shortstop, while also being voted as the team's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year. That same year, Klosterman helped lead the Commodores to the NCAA Super Regional in Austin after batting .346 with 91 hits, 72 runs scored and eight triples. Klosterman's eight triples remain a Vanderbilt single-season record. In addition to his success on the field, Klosterman was also honored with a spot on the 2004 Verizon Academic All-District IV Second Team and was a member of the Dean/s List and the Student-Athlete Honor Roll.

Klosterman graduated from Vanderbilt in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in human and organizational development with an emphasis in leadership and organizational effectiveness.

What they're saying about Ryan Klosterman

"I think Bryant got a great one! Klosty has been an integral part of building our program and I know he is going to do the same at Bryant. His work ethic, coaching and recruiting ability, and his impressive pedigree have prepared him to continue the great success the Bulldogs have had. We will miss him here, but know this is a great opportunity for him and Kaitlyn and the Smithfield community is lucky to have them! - Greg Lovelady (Head coach at University of Central Florida)

"Self-made and Tough … those are the first words that come to my mind when I think of Klosty. He has never asked for a thing, he has just gone to work and let his work speak for itself. He represents intelligence and a blue-collar investment level. When I was a first-year coach at Vanderbilt, no player impacted a roster and a program as much as Klosty did. He has taken those same traits with him as a teacher and coach. Not many people could follow the success of what Coach Owens has established at Bryant, but Ryan is the perfect fit for the next on-deck hitter. He is a wonderful choice for Bryant. I am happy for the University, the players and Ryan." - Tim Corbin (Head Coach at Vanderbilt University)

"This is a fantastic hire for Bryant Baseball! Ryan Klosterman is a rising star who has excelled everywhere he's been. From helping lead Vanderbilt to its first-ever Super Regional, to a Triple-A professional, to constructing outstanding recruiting classes and teams at UCF, his will to succeed stands out. He is a natural leader who inspires others with genuine passion. Congratulations to Ryan and Kaitlyn, and to Bill Smith and Bryant University on this outstanding selection! The Bulldogs are getting someone who is totally invested in building high achievers on and off the field." - Erik Bakich (Head coach at University of Michigan)

"In my junior year in college I was blessed to have Ryan Klosterman as one of my coaches. It was only one year that I was fortunate to play for him, but after seven years of pro ball, he always manages to keep in touch and coach me from afar. His knowledge and dedication to make players better is unmatched. His passion to win is beyond comparison. And I can honestly say that there are many things I have learned from him that I still use in my pro career. Bryant Baseball, you are getting a guy that can, and will, lead that program to the next level." – Darnell Sweeney (Currently playing for the Altoona Curve in AA).

"Ryan has always been a person of great integrity and passion, both as a coach and a human being. From my time at UCF, he was always pushing us to be the best because that's what he knows. He knows the connection between hard work and sacrifice in order to have great success. His energy and constant search for perfection flowed through him and poured out into our hearts as players. He was always there for us whenever we needed him and no one was happier to see us have success on the field." – Dylan Moore (Currently playing for the Seattle Mariners in the MLB)

Bryant led the league in ERA (4.74, 43rd nationally), hits allowed per nine, K:BB ratio (2.03), K/9 (8.9) and WHIP (1.45). The Bulldogs held opponents to a .249 average and a .741 OPS, both down nearly 10 points from the 2024 season. Cronin worked his magic with the weekend rotation for the second-straight year, has the Bulldogs replaced two of their three starters. Freshman Michael Belcher became the Friday night starter halfway through the year and was named America East Rookie of the Year, the first pitcher to win the award since 2019. Belcher was also named to the All-America East First Team, while transfer left-hander Clay Robbins and reliever Kyle Rizy earned second team honors. It was Cronin's work with his bullpen that was really special, as he developed a group that produced 29 of Bryant's 36 victories.

Cronin's second season saw the Bryant pitching staff take more strides and become a staff. Despite several injuries to key arms, Bryant ranked 86th nationally in ERA and 92 in hits allowed per nine innings. Cronin put together a completely new weekend rotation in 2024, with Austin Wainer stepping up to take over the Friday role. Under Cronin's watch, Wainer would go 7-3 and led the America East with 85.2 innings. Luke Delongchamp also shined in his first season after transferring from Boston College, posting a league-leading 2.76 ERA as Bryant's Saturday starter. All three pitchers were named All-America East, with Wainer and Delongchamp taking first team honors.

Cronin's first season in 2023 saw the Bulldogs rank in the top 80 nationally in strikeouts per nine (9.0) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.08). Both numbers led the America East. Under Cronin, Bryant struck out 431 batters on the year. Under Cronin's watch, Coleman Picard, Brett Wichrowski and Austin Wainer all had breakout years. Picard made the transition from the bullpen to the starting rotation, earning National Pitcher of the Week honors after punching out 12 against No. 14 Virginia Tech. Wichrowski earned All-America East Second Team honors and Wainer became one of most reliable arms out of the bullpen. Bryant also had two pitchers drafted in the 2023 MLB Draft, with Picard going in the sixth round to Kansas City and Wichrowski going in the 13th round to Milwaukee.

Cronin joins the Bulldogs after spending the last three seasons as the pitching coach at Seton Hill University. He has a proven track record of winning, having been a part of three College World Series appearances at the Division II and III level over the last five years.

Cronin has become familiar with the postseason over the last five years, pitching Oswego State to the 2017 Division III College World Series before helping Heidelberg reach the DIII World Series in 2019 as the pitching coach. At Seton Hill, he helped the Griffs reach the 2021 Division II College World Series with the third-best ERA in all of DII.

In the last two seasons at Seton Hill, Cronin's staff has finished in the top 25 nationally in ERA, K:BB ratio, K/9 and WHIP. His 2021 staff finished third nationally in ERA (3.22), second in shutouts (7), second in K:BB ratio (4.30), seventh in K/9 (11.0) and second in WHIP (1.15).

As a pitcher at SUNY Oswego, Cronin helped the team to the Division III College World Series in 2017. He was named the SUNYAC Co-Pitcher of the Year as he went 9-2 during his senior season. He also earned All-ECAC and All-New York Region honors. Cronin was also named the 2014 SUNYAC Rookie of the Year.

Cronin graduated from Oswego with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with minors in Athletic Coaching and Business Administration. He earned his MBA from Heidelberg.

What They're Saying About Tim Cronin

From the first day Tim stepped on our campus in August of 2019, he impacted our program on so many levels. He is a life-long learner and relationship cultivator. He poured himself into making our players and our program elite, and the results show that. Bryant is getting a great baseball guy, but more importantly, an exceptional man that will elevate everyone around him.

Marc Marizzaldi – Head Coach Seton Hill

Growing up in the same town, I watched Timmy excel on the diamond. He comes from a great family and embodies the characteristics that make me proud to be a Bryant Bulldog. I'm excited to watch him help the Dawgs bring home the hardware!"

    • Team has led the America East in doubles, home runs and scoring in each of his two seasons.
    • Set single-season DI program records for doubles (128) and home runs (82) in 2024.

Kaufman came to Smithfield with a track record of producing high-powered offenses and putting together highly-touted recruiting classes. After joining the Bulldogs in January of 2024, he's got right to work in implementing his offensive approach. The results speak for themselves as the Bulldogs set a program single season record 82 home runs in the 2024 season. Bryant also clubbed a program-record 128 doubles in 2024, ranking in the top 15 nationally, and posted a top 75 slugging percentage nationally. In two short seasons, Bryant's offense is averaging 7.2 runs per game, 1.4 home runs per game and 2.2 doubles per game. Kaufman has coached the America East Player of the Year and the America East batting champion in each of his two seasons in Smithfield. It marks the first time since 2014 and 2015 that the same school has produced the player of the year in back-to-back seasons (no team has done it three times in a row since Delaware 97-2000). Bryant has scored 10+ runs 31 times in Kaufman's two seasons.

The 2025 season saw the Black and Gold finish with a team OPS of .857 and averaged over seven runs per game. Bryant led the America East in doubles, home runs, scoring, slugging and hit by pitch. Under Kaufman's watch, Drew Wyers produced the third .400 season in DI program history, as he hit .407 on his way to America East Player of the Year honors. Wyers and Zac Zyons were both named to the first team, while Gavin Noriega, Pat D'Amico, Charlie Saul and Cam Papetti also earned all-conference honors.

In the America East, Bryant finished first in batting average (.278), runs scored (416), hits (533), doubles (128), home runs (82), slugging (.484) and HBPs (106).

Individually, the Bulldogs featured the league batting champion in Zac Zyons (.369) and the league leader in OBP, runs scored and RBI. Bryant had four players in the top six of slugging, the top three players in OBP and four of the top five in OPS. Bryant placed nine field players on all-conference teams with Zyons, Noriega and Chris Einemann earning first team honors. Petosa, Jackson Phinney, Matt Smith and Brandyn Durand all earned second team honors, while Gavin Greger was an all-rookie selection.

Kaufman joins the Bulldogs after spending the last four seasons as the associate head coach at Erskine College in South Carolina. He will work with the hitters and serve as the co-recruiting coordinator with the Bulldogs.

“Throughout the interview process it was very apparent that Will is a relentless recruiter with an impressive track record developing successful offenses,” Klosterman said. “I look forward to our players returning to campus next week so they can begin working with him.”

During his time at Erskine, the Fleet boasted four nationally-ranked recruiting classes and produced some of the nation’s top offensive teams. In 2023, Erskine hit 89 home runs, including an NCAA record-tying 12 in one game. The Fleet have produced over 100 doubles and have eclipsed 70 home runs twice in the last three full seasons with Kaufman.

“I want to thank Coach Klosterman and Bryant University for welcoming me to the family,” Kaufman said. “The program has been a perennial powerhouse in the Northeast and I am looking forward to helping continue that tradition. With all of the new facilities on campus it is apparent that athletics is a priority for the school. I am excited to start building relationships with the players and help them achieve their dreams on and off the field, and help bring championships back to Smithfield.”

Erskine boasted four nationally-ranked recruiting classes in his time there and have produced some of the nation's top offensive teams. In 2023, Erskine hit 89 home runs, including an NCAA record-tying 12 in one game. Offensively, Erskine finished fourth nationally in home runs, sixth in walks, seventh in slugging percentage, 10th in doubles and 10th in scoring during the 2023 season. Kaufman coached Dale Francis Jr. to Conference Carolinas Player of the Year honors last spring. Francis Jr. was one of five all-conference selections, while he joined Christian Rivera (DH) and Johnny Hummel (RP) as ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-America teams. Kaufman also had four players continue their careers at the professional level.

Prior to his time at Erskine, Kaufman built one of the best offenses in the country at the University of Pennsylvania. Under Kaufman's tutelage, Penn posted one of its best seasons in program history in 2019, finishing second nationally in batting average (.334), second in doubles per game (2.66), third in triples per game, third in OBP (.422) and third in scoring (8.6). That offensive unit was led by Matt O'Neill who was selected with the 598th overall pick in the MLB Draft.

In two seasons at Penn, the Quakers finished first or second in the Ivy League in nearly every offensive category.

Kaufman spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as an assistant coach at Division III Arcadia, helping the Knights post a 55-27-1 overall record. Arcadia set a school record for wins, scoring, RBI, hits, batting average, OPS and doubles and produced four ABCA All-Region selections in 2017.

Directors' Note to Campers

"The Bryant University Baseball staff is excited to provide an opportunity for young baseball athletes and the youth population to come to campus and participate in our youth baseball camp! With a focus on teaching the game and developing skills, our Division 1 coaching staff and players will ensure that this camp will be competitive, fun, and educational. Our four-day camp will allow us to watch our campers develop over a one-week period, which is an exciting opportunity for us as a coaching staff. We believe our state-of-the-art facilities and staff will help improve skillsets and grow the love of the game for youth athletes!"

Camps are open to any and all entrants, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
