Join NBC Basketball this summer for NBC Camp for campers from Alberta and beyond!
Strathcona Christian Elementary School is home to one of our most popular day camps in Alberta: the Complete Skills Junior Basketball Day Camp. At camp, campers will work on the fundamentals of the game such as dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense. Elementary-aged athletes will love the fun, encouraging environment at camp. Our outstanding coaching staff approach coaching with the heart of a teacher and are passionate about helping every camper improve.
NBC stands for Nothing Beats Commitment and has been running camps since 1971. Camps focus on confidence, goal setting, mental toughness, leadership, intensity, athletic and life skill mastery, and the importance of personal faith and Christian values.

Luke Lavorato has been involved with NBC Camps for 18 years. He is a former University of Alberta athlete and has been director of NBC Camps in Edmonton for over 10 years.

Daily Times: 9:00 am-3:00 pm
CAMP DESCRIPTION
Complete Skills Junior Day Camps These camps offer comprehensive skill training, games, and life skills training within a 9:00 am to 3:00 pm time frame. These day camps are a perfect introduction for athletes into the NBC Camp program and offer a taste of NBC excellence at a pace and intensity more suitable for younger or more beginning athletes. This basketball camp is designed for athletes to improve their game and have a fun time. We will focus on developing fundamental skills from shooting and attacking the basket to ball handling and defense.
The goal is to help build confidence in a fun and encouraging environment at a pace more suitable for the younger athlete. During this formative time, building skill mastery is crucial. Learning a new skill takes about 50-100 accurate repetitions over three days. It takes about 2500 accurate repetitions over three weeks to undo a skill learned incorrectly.
At NBC Camps, we believe it is worth the investment to help younger athletes learn a skill accurately. We also believe having fun is crucial for future passion. Our Intro camps combine great teaching, high energy, enthusiasm, and tons of fun into a camp experience younger athletes will love.

NBC Basketball Camps offers Hoopgear packages for pre-purchase. Walk into camp and get your gear for summer 2025. This year the Hoopgear offers two package options. The NBC Basketball premier hoodie and the basketball shorts or leggings. Add this to your camp registration and it will be ready for you at camp. ABOUT THE FACILITY
NBC Camps uses the gym at Strathcona Christian Elementary School. It is located kitty-corner to Sherwood Park Alliance Church and SCA High School.
