Nike Junior Golf Camps is proud to offer a new camp location outside Philadelphia at The Golf Zone in 2018! Camp Director and PGA Master Professional, George McNamara, offers half day camps to junior golfers of all ability levels. Register for camp and improve your skills this summer!
HALF DAY CAMPS 9:00AM - 12:00PM
Our half-day programs are available for golfers ages 7 to 15 of all ability levels. Enjoy three hours of instruction each day under the direction of our extraordinary staff. Staff members will supervise campers during course play scenarios and help with shot selection, course management and rules.
- Three hours of morning instruction covering putting, chipping, pitching and full swing
- Camper amenity package including a Nike hat, drawstring bag, one dozen SRIXON balls, camp workbook, and graduation certificate

Camp Director George McNamara
George has been teaching golf for over 40 years. He became the 50th PGA Master Professional in 1988. He has been the Director of Golf at Brandywine Country Club for the past 29 years.View George's Bio ⟩
He met Fred Shoemaker at the PGA Teaching and Coaching Summit in 2004 and that changed both his personal and professional life. He founded Swing with Freedom which is based on the principles of Extraordinary Golf. Creating an environment where discovery and learning are possible is deeply satisfying to George. He still participates in many Extraordinary Golf programs to continually develop his Coaching skills. His intent in Coaching is to shift the culture of golf tips, formulas and answers to one of exploration, discovery and freedom.
George is a skilled Coach who has the ability to create an environment that is safe, without judgments where accelerated development and learning thrives. George has won the Philadelphia Section PGA Golf Professional of the year award and served as President of the Philadelphia PGA in 1998 & 1999. He was named the 2011-2012 Golf Digest Delaware Teacher of the Year and was recently inducted into Philadelphia PGA Hall of Fame. In 2011, George was the first in the Philadelphia Section PGA to be certified in AimPoint green reading. He was also the Ping Club Fitter of the year in 2008. He lives in Downingtown with his wife, Nancy.
Staff John Poole
John has been teaching and coaching golf for the last 45 years and is currently Golf Professional Emeritus at Chester Valley Golf Club. John’s coaching has been influenced by the principles of Fred Shoemaker, the founder of Extraordinary Golf.View John's Bio ⟩
John has received many PGA awards, including the Philadelphia section and National PGA Bill Strasbaugh Award for work in the area of club relations, the Horton Smith Award for educating golf professionals, and the Golf Professional of the Year Award in 2000, John is also a member of the Philadelphia section PGA Hall of Fame. John is also a member of the Philadelphia section PGA Hall of Fame. John lives in West Chester, PA with his wife, Patricia. They have two grown sons.
Staff Dave Linkchorst
Dave Linkchorst is a Class "A-8" Quarter Century Member of the PGA and Assistant Golf Professional at The Golf Zone.
This program is designed for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15. The Nike Junior Golf Camp staff is on hand to provide campers with top quality instruction each day. At Nike Junior Golf Camps we accommodate all skill levels; the junior player just discovering the game, the high school player trying to move up on the team, and the tournament level junior looking to improve his or her tournament results. A detailed camper registration packet containing check in location, health/release forms, emergency contact info, and a list of things to bring will be emailed to all registered campers in the spring.
Sample Daily Schedule
- 9:00am Campers arrive, warm up, stretching, skills demonstrations by staff
- 9:15am Rotate stations working on full swing, short game, putting
- 10:45am Drills, games, competitions for prizes
- 12:00pm Camp meeting and departure
The Golf Zone
The Golf Zone is the perfect setting for junior camps as a full-service practice facility. The property has a full-service pro shop and snack bar open year-round, grass tee driving range with PGA Instruction available, premier indoor practice facility and professional custom golf club fitting.
