USSC is extremely pleased to offer a new Nike Lacrosse Camp at Benedictine University this August! Join Benedictine University Head Lacrosse Coach Josh Berey-Wingate and his coaching staff for a training camp tailored for experienced high school players and youth athletes (ages 10-18) looking to elevate their game.

Located in the scenic suburb of Lisle, Illinois, just outside of Chicago, Benedictine University offers a convenient and accessible location for campers from the Midwest and beyond. Overnight campers are housed in modern campus dormitories within walking distance of the fields and are closely supervised by experienced staff to ensure a safe and fun camp experience.

    Brendan Kearney enters his fourth season as the defensive coordinator for the Lewis University men's lacrosse team.

    With Kearney on the sideline, the Flyers have had some of the best defensive units in the midwest and across the country. During the 2025 campaign, Lewis was ranked a top-10 defense in the nation and the third-best clearing team across the country.

    The 2024 season was a landmark year for the defense under Kearney as the Flyers were once again ranked as a top-10 defense and led the nation in clears. Lewis also captured their first GLVC Tournament Championship and advanced all the way to the Elite Eight.

    In his first season back with Lewis, Kearney led the Flyers to a top-10 defensive ranking and an appearance in the GLVC Championship game during the 2023 campaign.

    Since 2023, he has also mentored a handfull of All-Americans in Riah Rathe (2023/2024) and Tyler Davis (2024/2025) as well.

    Kearney was in charge of all operations for the Marquette Lacrosse program during the 2021-22 season as the director of lacrosse operations. During his one season at Marquette, the program made their first Big East Tournament appearance since 2018. The 2022 Marquette Defense finished 12th in Division 1 in man-down defense at 71% and also finished Top 30 in Caused Turnovers per game with 7.8 per game. Kearney mentored 2022 USILA All-American, Mason Woodward.

    Prior to Marquette University, Kearney served as a defensive assistant at Lewis University from 2018 to 2021, helping build the program through its inaugural year. In 2020, a seven game Shortened Covid season, Kearney led the Flyer Defense to a # 1 Man-down defensive ranking and assisted the Lewis Defense to Top 25 in Goals against average, at 10.5 per game, in NCAA Division II. Kearney mentored freshman Goalie Josh Calvin to the #5 Save percentage, 62% in Division II.

    Prior to Lewis, Kearney was co-captain of the club lacrosse team at Holy Cross College and was eventually named coach in 2015. In that role, the Glen Ellyn, Illinois, native was responsible for funding, scheduling, planning practices and game leadership.

    The former goalie also served as director of 1223 Lacrosse Club from 2019 to 2020, where he organized club lacrosse activities for high school lacrosse players and helped them with the college recruitment process. Kearney then served as a coach for True Lacrosse, implementing strategies to improve goalie training.

You can expect high demand for these first-come-first-served camper spots, so please be sure to register early. This summer, Benedictine University is offering an overnight camp with an extended day camp option for ages 10-18. Our focus for this camp will be on instruction, working with our campers to improve not only their individual skills and sense of the game but also their ability to contribute to team skills and success.

2026 OVERVIEW

  • Dates: August 3-6
  • Age Group: 10-18
  • Gender: Boys
  • Camp Type: Overnight, Extended Day (commuter)
  • Check-In: Check-in at TBD. Overnight campers – between 1:00-2:00pm; Extended Day campers – between 2:00pm -3:00pm.
  • Check-out: There will be a closing ceremony at the field on at 11:30am. Overnight Campers check-out from the dorm immediately following.
  • Extended Day Schedule: MON 3:00PM-9:00PM, TUE-WED 8:45AM-8:00PM, THURS 9:00AM-11:30AM **Times subject to change
  • Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Lunch and dinner are provided for all Extended Day (commuter) campers.
  • Program: The Skills program is designed to provide campers the fundamental skills, position specific training and in-game tactical knowledge needed to enhance your game.

DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE

  • Team Discount: If five or more campers register together, each camper is eligible for a $25 discount. After all team members have successfully registered, contact us to receive a $25 refund per camper.

2026 HOUSING

  • Dorm: TBD
  • Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
  • Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
  • Bathrooms: Shared
  • Linens: Not included. Bring linens or a sleeping bag, a pillow, a pillowcase, and a towel.
  • Air Conditioning: TBD

SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol, and tobacco are strictly prohibited and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Morning, afternoon, and evening training sessions
  • Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus and all meals are provided.
  • Extended Day campers: Lunch and dinner are provided.
  • Supervision: Staff members reside in campers’ quarters and participate in all activities.
  • Reversible Jersey & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Lacrosse Camps Reversible Jersey and prizes.

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY

  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience per the Director's discretion.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your helmet, mouthpiece, cleats, lacrosse stick, gloves, and pads.
  • Facility: Athletic Fields
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

EXTENDED DAY CAMPERS

Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Extended Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: Along with your lacrosse equipment, we recommend that you bring a day pack with the following items: water bottle, weather-appropriate clothing, cleats, and walking shoes.

Camp Schedule & Meals:

  • Monday: Extended Day Campers should arrive dressed and ready to play. You will be assigned a counselor and given a complete schedule of all events during the week. Extended Day Campers stay until 9:00pm. Dinner is provided on the first day.
  • Tuesday: Extended Day Camper Hours – 8:45am-8:00pm. Lunch and dinner are provided.
  • Wednesday: Extended Day Camper Hours - 8:45am-8:00pm. Lunch and dinner are provided.
  • Thursday: Check-out is immediately after the camp concludes at 11:30am. Departure time may change depending on the event.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.
