Camp Director Jason Rife
Directing camp this summer is Jason Rife. Coach Rife brings an abundance of coaching experience that features more than 15 years of coaching at the collegiate level.View Jason Rife's Bio ⟩
Jason Rife spent the past two seasons with the University of Hartford men’s lacrosse team as an assistant coach. Joining head coach Peter Lawrence’s staff in October 2013, Rife brought an abundance of experience that featured more than 15 years of coaching at the collegiate level.
Rife has spread out his coaching career over five different colleges and universities, and has been an integral part in each of those institutions finding postseason success as he has two conference championships and a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances under his belt.
Arriving to Hartford by way of Whittier College, also where he began his coaching career in 1998, Rife has spent the last two seasons in California as an assistant coach for the Poets. During his first stint at Whittier, he worked alongside Lawrence for two seasons, both serving as assistants.
Before making his return to Whittier and the west coast, Rife spent four seasons as the head coach at Wagner College in Staten Island. Before earning that position, he was a member of the coaching staff at Bryant from 2003-07, helping the then-Division II power to the program's first-ever Northeast 10 Conference regular season championship. Also highlighting Rife's campaign at Bryant was a combined 45-20 record and the development of five Division II All-Americans.
Rife first broke into the Division I coaching scene in 2002 when he was tabbed an assistant coach at UMass, his alma mater. In two seasons with the Minutemen, he helped the team to an appearance in the NCAA Division I quarterfinals in 2003. He is no stranger to the NCAA Tournament as in 2002 he assisted in piloting Washington & Lee to the Division III Final Four, a run that also featured the capturing of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference crown.
Rife graduated from UMass in 1996, earning his undergraduate degree in sports management.

Camp was great!
July 16, 2017: Overall, the camp was great. My son really enjoyed the camp and learned a lot. He plans to go back next year and we would recommend it to anyone interested in a lacrosse camp. I feel like it really improved his self-confidence. The coaches were all very encouraging with my son.

July 14, 2017: There were some really good players and my son wanted to be a bit more challenged, however this was his first "away" camp, and it was a great experience. He enjoyed meeting new kids and coaches. I was very impressed with the ease and organization of check in and check out. The staff did an excellent job!

July 21, 2016: The Nike Lacrosse Camp in Vail was by far the BEST lacrosse camp experience we've ever had! The communication with the parents was outstanding and the interaction with the campers was second to none. My son is still raving about his experience and the awesome time he had all week. The coaches were extremely skilled and were able to extend their knowledge to the kids in a friendly, fun manner. My son also has a life-threatening food allergy and I have never felt more confident in the safety of the meals they provided for him. The chef personally communicated with him before each meal letting him know what was safe for him to eat. Thank you so much for an AWESOME week. We will definitely be back next year!
— Stan U. Parent
July 17, 2016: This camp has a very low coach/player ratio that really helped the boys improve and grow as athletes. The positive atmosphere made the boys feel welcomed and safe when trying new skills. The coaches covered all aspects of game in a fun and professional way. Great week!
— Charlotte R. Parent
