From 1998-2001 Myers served as the lead assistant for UCSB of the Big West Conference. From 2002-2004 served in the same capacity at Santa Clara University. He later returned to UCSB from 2005-2011 as associate head coach for the Gauchos.

During the summer of 2007, Myers served as pitching coach for the Santa Barbara Foresters of the California Collegiate league. Summer of 2008 Myers was the head coach for the Kenai Peninsula Oilers of the Alaskan League. From 2009-2011 Myers was the head coach for the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod League. During his time as a Division I assistant coach, Myers instructed 105 players that eventually played professional baseball with 35 reaching the Major Leagues.

Myers was drafted in 1991 by the Oakland Athletics and eventually played 5 seasons with the Athletics, Orioles and Cardinals. In 1997 Myers served as player-coach for the Dutch Professional League in Haarlam, Holland.

Myers currently enters his 11th year as an area scout, now as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers Scouting Department. Myers previously scouted 10 years for the Chicago Cubs from 2011-2021. His territory covers Central Southern California and Las Vegas. Myers also is owner of the Santa Barbara Grizzlies Baseball Development Group located on the Central Coast.

Myers graduated from UCSB with a degree in History and received his Masters in Education from Azusa Pacific University. Myers is single and father to Lauren Myers who is 19 years old and attends Santa Barbara City College.

He comes with an extensive background in college coaching having spent the last 16+ years working at the 4-year College, Junior College and College Development/Scout baseball levels. Hardesty brings with him a high energy, passionate approach to working with athletes in the development process. Having built a reputation during his time at the Junior College level and College Development/Scout coaching for helping to develop and prepare athletes for the college level ranging from the Junior College level to the Power 5 Division 1 level. His work ethic, knowledge, and passion creates opportunities for student-athletes to pursue their college goals and has a track record of success.

Hardesty graduated from Ventura High School in Ventura, Ca. After graduation he was a 1-year starter at Ventura College at the California Community College level. He received a scholarship to play at Trinity International University where he was a starter. After an ankle injury during his junior year. Hardesty elected to transfer to Westmont College where he was a 2-year starter and team captain.

Following the completion of his college playing career, Hardesty set out on an extensive career in baseball. Spending 2 years as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Westmont College. He was then offered the opportunity to return to Ventura College and join the staff there. For the next 9 years he served as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator/Associate Head Coach for the Pirates baseball program. He then moved on to serve as the Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for Santa Barbara City College and a year as the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for Moorpark College. As well, during his 14+ years in college coaching he served as the Head Coach for the Coastal Cubs College Development/Scout team under the direction of the Chicago Cubs area scout and recently transitioned to the Coastal Dodgers program. While throughout his coaching career making stops coaching in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, California Collegiate Baseball League, Golden Coast Collegiate Baseball League as an assistant coach or head coach.

Hardesty earned his B.A. from Westmont College in Political Science in 2006. After graduation, Steven preceded to earn his M.S.S. degree in Sports Studies (emphasis in Strength and Conditioning) from the United States Sports Academy in 2009. In 2012, he completed his M.S. in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. Hardesty earned NSCA-Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification in 2010.
