Work with George Fox University Men's Basketball Coach Maco Hamilton for a basketball camp during summer 2023! Participate in breakthrough drills, competitive games, and leadership development, and have serious fun!
The Individual Skills Camp will focus on the individual players skills. This includes Shooting, passing, dribbling, footwork, defense, rebounding. This camp is geared toward every level of basketball player from beginner to advance.

Camp Director Brendan Jones
Brendan Jones enters his seventh season as an assistant coach under head coach Maco Hamilton in 2023-24.View Brendan's Bio ⟩
Jones first joined Hamilton's staff as a volunteer and has steadily grown his responsibilities over the last six seasons. Jones now acts as both Hamilton's top assistant coach on the court, assists with all the Bruins' recruiting for the program, and serves as the team's strength and conditioning coach. Jones earned his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credentials from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition to his coaching and CSCS duties for both the team and the department, Jones also serves as an adjunct professor in the Health and Human Performance program.
Jones has been part of the program with Hamilton since 2015 when he transferred to Fox for his junior season of basketball. Jones graduated with honors from Fox in 2017 with a degree in Health and Human Performance and a fitness management emphasis.
Prior to coming to Fox, Jones won a state title in his senior year of high school at Hellgate HS in Missoula, Mont. Jones then played a season of collegiate basketball as a freshman at Gillette College in Gillette, Wyo., before transferring as a sophomore to Everett CC in Everett, Wash.
Jones also has continued to develop himself as a coach on the local club circuit outside of his time working with the Bruins.
Head Coach Maco Hamilton
Maco "Shark" Hamilton, enters his 11th season as the head men's basketball coach for George Fox in 2022-23. Hamilton took charge of the George Fox program prior to the 2013-14 season after building Union HS in Camas, Wash., into the powerhouse program it still is today.View Maco's Bio ⟩
Hamilton and his staff have helped the Bruins climb the Northwest Conference standings through the COVID year and through the 2021-22 season, jumping from the bottom of the conference into sixth in 2021-22. Zac Schmerber was named All-NWC Honorable mention and the Bruins finished 6-10 in conference. Despite the losing record on paper, Fox was always competitive and many of their losses were decided by five points or less.
Hamilton has strong basketball connections in Oregon and Washington. He played at Fort Vancouver High School, Mt. Hood Community College (1998-99) and Eastern Oregon University (1999-01). He has assisted at Mountain View High School in Vancouver (2001-03; 04-06), the University of Portland (2003-04) and Ridgefield (Wash.) High School (2006-07).
A 2001 graduate of Eastern Oregon in business administration management, Hamilton worked as a multicultural youth outreach coordinator and student advocate at Mountain View (2001-06) and as a guidance counselor at Ridgefield (2006-07) and Union (2007-13). He earned his master’s in education from City University in Vancouver in 2006.

Upon arrival, all participants are evaluated by the staff so that their own instructional needs can be addressed throughout the week. In addition, campers will be evaluated and then split up into smaller groups according to age and ability.
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

Transportation is not provided by the camp to or from any airports. If you are flying to or from camp, we recommend using an airport shuttle service. Please schedule flights as close as you can to the check-in times on the first day and check-out times on the last day.
