Nike Swim Camp at Westminster University

Nike Swim Camps is excited to offer its newest camp in Salt Lake City at Westminster University. The camp combines elite-level stroke technique instruction with an unforgettable summer camp experience! Next Athletes, operator of the Nike Sports Camps at Westminster, provides the ideal environment to learn from some of the best coaches in the country. The coaching staff is comprised of dedicated college coaches, high school coaches, and collegiate athletes who are committed to helping campers improve their stroke technique and create memories that last a lifetime. The camp is coed, and open to campers ages 12-17.
OVERNIGHT CAMP
The overnight program includes instruction, training and fun games, overnight accommodations, all meals, FUN evening activities and more. Our amazing staff resides in the dorms in adjacent rooms to the campers and provides supervision throughout the camp. The camp utilizes the on-campus pool at the Dolores Eccles Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center as well as other local swim complexes when necessary.
DAY CAMP (9:00AM – 4:00PM)
The Nike Swim Camp at Westminster also offers a day camp program for campers who do not wish to stay overnight. This option includes instruction and daytime activities only. The schedule is modified on the first and last days of camp.
The Nike Swim Camp at Westminster University is open to any and all entrants and limited only by number, age and gender. For your safety and benefit, we recommend you have competitive swimming experience (e.g. U.S.S. age group, national qualifiers, high school swimmers, or summer league swimmers) and can swim at least 50 meters in all four competitive strokes: fly, back, breast and freestyle.

Camp Details
SECURE YOUR SPOT!
You can expect high demand for these first-come-first-serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early. This summer, the camp at Westminster University is offering one session of overnight with a day camp (9:00am-4:00pm) option for boys and girls, ages 12-17. Upon arrival at camp, campers are placed into groups with other swimmers with similar ages and ability levels. Our camp staff will do their best to accommodate every camper’s needs, with consideration of their experience and desire to improve.

- Dates: June 17-21
- Age Group: 12-17

- Camp Type: Overnight & Day (commuter)
- Check-in: OVERNIGHT campers check-in between 7:30-8:00am on Monday in front of Hogle Hall. There will be camp staff at the entrance to direct you. Overnight campers will check into their dorm prior to arrival. DAY campers should arrive between 8:00-8:30am at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center. There will be a camp orientation at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center at 8:30am following check-in which we highly encourage the parent or guardian to attend. Parents are welcome to depart following orientation.
- Check-out: A closing ceremony will take place at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center 12:00pm on Friday. Day Campers will be picked up immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check-out from the dorm immediately following orientation.
- Day Schedule: MON 8AM-4PM, TUE-THURS 9AM-4PM, FRI 9AM-NOON **Times subject to change
- Meals: All meals are provided for Overnight campers. Meals are not provided for Day campers. Day campers should bring their own lunch.
- Program: The Stroke Technique program is designed to provide competitive swimmers with a better understanding of swimming fundamentals. Stroke refinement along with constructive feedback will be the focus of the camp and allows each participant to gain a greater knowledge of proper stroke mechanics and ways to improve themselves individually.

CAMP CHECK-IN
Monday, June 17th
- OVERNIGHT campers check in between 7:30-8:15am on Monday in front of Hogle Hall. There will be camp staff at the University entrance to direct you. Overnight campers will check into their dorm prior to arrival. Day campers will check in at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center between 8:00-8:30am. There will be a camp orientation meeting at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center from 8:30-9:00am which we highly encourage the parent or guardian to attend. After which the parents are welcome to depart.
CAMP CHECK-OUT
Friday, June 21st
- A closing ceremony will take place at Behnken Field House at Dolores Eccles Athletic Center at 12:00pm on Friday. Day Campers will be picked up immediately following the closing ceremony. Overnight campers check-out from the dorm immediately after the closing ceremony.
PARKING
OVERNIGHT parents may temporarily pull to the curb in front of Hogle Hall for a quick drop-off/pick-up of luggage. OVERNIGHT and DAY camp parents may park in the parking garage beneath Dumke Field (a short walk to Behnken Field House).
2024 HOUSING
- Dorm: Hogle Hall
- Number of Campers Per Room: 2 per room
- Roommates: Rooms are assigned by age & roommate requests. Roommate requests must be mutual and received no later than 14 days before the start of camp. If you don't have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity to meet someone new!
- Bathrooms: Shared
- Linens: Not included. Bring linens or sleeping bag, pillow, pillowcase, and a towel.
- Air Conditioning: Yes
SUPERVISION
The staff reside in the dormitories with the campers and participate in all activities. Drugs, alcohol and tobacco are strictly prohibited, and constitute, along with general misconduct, grounds for dismissal from camp without a refund.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
- Instruction: Daytime training sessions
- Overnight campers: Dormitory housing on campus, evening activities and all meals
- Day campers: Instruction and daytime activities only. Lunch is not included
- Supervision: Staff members reside in adjacent rooms to the campers and participate in all activities
- Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers at multi-day camps will receive a Nike Swim Camps t-shirt and prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
- Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
- Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
- Equipment Needed: Please bring your water swimsuit, swim cap, googles and towel(s)
- Facility: Dolores Eccles Health, Wellness, and Athletic Center
- Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

DAY CAMPERS
Checklist of Things to Bring: We recommend that all Day Campers bring a daily pack with the following items: swimsuit, swim cap, goggles, towel, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, sandals, water bottle, dry land gear (running shoes, t-shirt, athletic shorts, sweatshirt) and any other appropriate clothing for that day’s activities which will be described to you on the first day of camp.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

Westminster is a private, independent, and comprehensive university in Salt Lake City, Utah. Westminster’s urban Sugar House campus is within minutes of the Rocky Mountains. Campers train each day at the Westminster Natatorium.
