The Raleigh Red Oaks are a newly branded collegiate summer wood bat team in the Old North State League, bringing high-quality baseball and family-friendly entertainment to the heart of Raleigh. As the only team in the league playing in Raleigh at Optimist Park, the Red Oaks aim to become a community cornerstone, offering exciting games and events that fans of all ages can enjoy. With a strong commitment to engaging with local youth sports and building partnerships with businesses and organizations, we’re dedicated to fostering a vibrant atmosphere that celebrates Raleigh’s love for baseball.

Camp Director Michael Horrell
Michael Horrell enters his first season with the Red Oaks, and will be leading the pitching staff. Michael pitched at Campbell University from 2016-2019, and was recognized as 2x all-conference, 2019 Big South Pitcher of the Year and finished in the top 10 in wins, innings pitched, ERA and strikeouts at Campbell. Michael was drafted by the Astros in 2019 and played until 2023, spending two years in AA. He also pitched for the York Revolution in the Atlantic League in 2024, winning the Atlantic League Championship and was awarded the Gold Glove Award for Pitchers.
Camp Details
Instruction will focus primarily on hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations. You can expect high demand for these first come first serve camper spots, so please be sure to register early.

2025 SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION
- Dates: July 14-16, 2025; Raleigh Red Oaks game on the July 15th and 19th (camper ticket provided)
- Age Group: 7-13
- Camp Type: Day Camp
- Schedule: Monday-Wednesday, 9:00am-12:00pm
- Check-In: Begins 30 minutes prior to the camp start time.
- Meals: Lunch is not provided. Please bring lunch on day 1 and snacks each day.

- Daily Baseball Instruction
- Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours
- Nike Baseball Camp T-Shirt, Cinch Sack, Wristband, Sticker, and potentially other prizes!
INSTRUCTION & FACILITY
Ratio: 1:10 staff to camper ratio
Groupings: Campers are grouped by ability, age, and experience, per the Director's discretion.
Facility: Outdoor Fields.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL
Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
TRAVEL
Nike Baseball Camps does not provide transportation from airports, train stations or bus depots. If you have a child flying to camp, please arrange a shuttle or taxi service.
TEAM/GROUP DISCOUNT
If you have a team or group of 5 or more campers registering for the same camp, each camper may be eligible for a discount. To receive the group discount, please have someone email US Sports Camps at [email protected] with the following information: Camp name, list of camper names, and the number of campers. We will respond with a unique discount code for everyone in the group to use during online registration. *Note: Discount amounts vary by program, so please reach out for more details.
