Camp Details

Maximizing swimming potential through a holistic training approach is the mission of Peak Performance Swim Camp. To fulfill our mission, we seek to empower our swimmers through a two-tiered process of teaching and training. The teaching side includes daily chalk talks, video presentations, and ongoing poolside demonstrations. In addition, a targeted teaching strategy focused on swimmers’ individual needs is employed.

  • Start-Stroke-Turn Camp: For competitive swimmers ages 9-18. Our 4-day Start, Stroke, and Turn Camp dedicates equal time training fast starts, quick turns, and efficient strokes. Starts and turns are often a weak link in competitive racing and cost vital seconds, but we have the solution! In the stroke training, we target elite techniques common to Olympians. If speed is what you seek, come to PEAK! The start training covers the front and back competitive starts, and improves reaction time, explosive power, and distance off the block. Enhancing turns is a fast way to boost performance, and our turn progressions teach swimmers how to accelerate on the wall and travel further off the wall. In the stroke training, areas of focus include body position, pulling, kicking, breathing and timing, as well as MDPS (Maximum Distance Per Stroke) and MSR (Maximum Stroke Rate). It’s the complete package!

Note: This is NOT a learn-to-swim program, but specifically designed for competitive swimmers who can perform multiple lengths of all four strokes and the official starts and turns. Swimmers are assigned to lanes based on ability level. The daily skill progressions and challenging swim sets are adjusted to reflect skill and performance levels.

CAMP CHECK-IN

Camp check-in will take place on the pool deck.

Check-in time: 8:45 am. Tuesday to Friday, January 2-5

  • Swimmers must arrive at camp wearing their swimsuit underneath their dry-land clothing.
  • Parents need to sign in their swimmer with camp staff each morning.
  • There is limited space for spectators to observe the pool sessions. Please stay in the bleachers on either side of the pool.
CAMP CHECK-OUT

Pick-up and Sign-out will occur on the pool deck

Pick-up time: 3:00 pm.

Tuesday to Friday, January 2-5

  • Parents must sign out their swimmer each afternoon with a PEAK staff member.
CAMP FINALE

The camp concludes on Friday, January 5, at 3:00 pm. Parents can pick up their children on the pool deck.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?
  • Instruction: Morning and afternoon training sessions
  • Supervision: Campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
  • Camp T-shirt & Prizes: Campers will receive a Peak Swim Camps t-shirt and prizes.
INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT & FACILITY
  • Ratio: 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience.
  • Equipment Needed: Please bring your water swimsuit, swim cap, googles and towel(s)
  • Facility: Sunset Point Pool
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.

  • Dry-Land Apparel: T-Shirts, Shorts, or Leggings
  • Do NOT bring fins, pull-buoys, kickboards, etc.
TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

DELUXE PRIVATE COACHING: A private session with a PEAK Senior Coach can transform a swimmer in as little as one hour. Our talented and select group of senior coaches have a minimum of 10 years club coaching experience and 5 years PEAK coaching experience. In addition, they teach the same swimming concepts and drills used by Olympic Coach Nick Baker. There are limited sessions available each camp and they sell out quickly! PRICE: $250

Each day’s curriculum includes: four hours of in-water training, purposeful teaching, a daily motivational mind power workshop, and dynamic dry-land training. The combined PEAK experience toughens swimmers mentally, boosts fitness and confidence, and improves essential swimming skills.

Camp Questions & Answers

How are swimmers grouped at camp?

Lane assignments will be based on your best 100 Free time. We will ask you to email us your best 100 Free time when we send out the registration packet before camp. If you do not submit the correct time, then there is a strong chance that you will be placed in the wrong lane, and will not fully benefit from the clinic training. Thank you for your assistance!
