at Nike Soccer Camps

Join us this summer for an exciting and enriching experience at the Nike Soccer Camp in Minooka, Illinois! Camp will be led by David DiTomasso and Directed by highly experienced head coach Liz Skwarczynski, this camp offers a dynamic training environment designed to help young athletes reach their full potential.

Open to boys and girls of all skill levels ages 6–17, the camp provides a structured yet fun atmosphere where players can grow both on and off the field. Throughout the week, athletes will focus on overall athletic development, sharpen their fundamental skills, and elevate their technical abilities through high-quality instruction and purposeful drills. In addition, players will participate in position-specific training sessions, allowing them to gain deeper insight and specialized techniques tailored to their roles on the field.

    Administrative Director

    Dave DiTomasso is the Administrative Director for the Nike Volleyball Camp at Benedictine University.

    Liz Skwarczynski

    Elizabeth “Liz” Skwarczynski was born and raised in Cypress, California, where she competed for several of Orange County’s top premier clubs. During her club career she was selected for Southern California’s Olympic Development Program. Liz attended Los Alamitos High School, where she helped lead her team to back‑to‑back CIF Division I State Championships. After high school, she relocated to the Chicagoland area to continue her playing career at Elmhurst College, where she also represented the program internationally in competition across Italy, the Netherlands, and Germany.

    Liz Skwarczynski

    Liz is an accomplished and widely respected soccer coach with more than twenty five years of experience across youth, high school, collegiate, and club environments. Recognized for her player‑centered philosophy and her ability to build disciplined, competitive, and cohesive teams, she has coached athletes at every stage of development—from early beginners to collegiate standouts—while consistently elevating the programs she serves.

    Coach Skwarczynski holds multiple advanced coaching credentials, including the NSCAA National “C” and “D” Licenses, the USSF Regional Diploma, and the NSCAA Futsal Diploma. Liz’s coaching career spans numerous influential roles throughout Illinois. She has served as an assistant coach for the women’s programs at Lewis University and Joliet Junior College. At the high school level, her experience includes positions such as Head Boys’ Varsity Coach at Newark High School, Boys’ Assistant Coach at Yorkville High School, and Boys’ Assistant Coach at Minooka Community High School. She also led the Minooka Girls’ Varsity program, where she transformed a struggling 1–17 team into a competitive 10‑7‑1 (.583) squad in just one season.

    Her club experience includes coaching with Three Rivers Soccer Club/Chicago Rush South, where she directed the U16 Girls program. Liz has also contributed significantly to elite youth development through her work with the Illinois Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program, coaching at the Player Development Camp, State Camp, and Midwest Regional Camp, where she helped identify and train some of the state’s emerging female talent.

    Liz holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Governors State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Elmhurst University. She resides in Minooka with her husband, Mark, and their two sons, Andrew and Jack.

    Henry Cheung

    Coach

    Henry Cheung is in his fifth season as head women’s soccer coach at Joliet Junior College, where he has built the Wolves into a nationally recognized NJCAA Division III program. He holds a 34‑22‑6 overall record (.597) and has guided JJC to multiple historic milestones.

    In 2025, Cheung led Joliet to one of its best seasons ever, finishing 13‑4‑1 with nine shutouts and an 11‑match winning streak — the longest in program history. The Wolves scored 65 goals in 18 matches, ranking fifth nationally, and earned a No. 5 national ranking, the second‑highest in school history.

    The 2023 season marked a major breakthrough. Joliet went 12‑2‑3, captured the Region 4 Championship, advanced to the NJCAA Midwest District Tournament, and climbed as high as No. 4 in the national rankings. The Wolves produced six first‑team All‑Region selections, and Cheung was named Region 4 Coach of the Year.

    Before joining JJC, Cheung spent two seasons as head coach at Kishwaukee College, where he recruited more than 25 student‑athletes and led the program to unprecedented success. In his second year, the Kougars completed an undefeated Arrowhead Conference season without conceding a goal.

    Cheung also brings high school and club experience. He is currently the Head Varsity Boys Soccer Coach at Bolingbrook High School and previously led the varsity boys’ program at Newark High School, where five players earned All‑Conference honors and one was selected to the IHSSCA All‑Sectional Team. His coaching background includes roles with the Chicago Dutch Lions, Chicago House, Chicago Rush South, Chicago Fire Juniors West, and Team Chicago.

    He holds a U.S. Soccer “D” License and numerous United Soccer Coaches diplomas, including National and Advanced National certifications, Level 1 Futsal, Attacking and Defending Principles, 11v11 Systems of Play, and Level 1 Goalkeeping. Cheung has also served on staff at elite collegiate camps at Texas A&M University and Grand Valley State University and is an active member of United Soccer Coaches and its Asian/Pacific Islander Coaches Advocacy Group.

    Cheung and his wife, Kristin, live in Shorewood with their children — Adriana, Landon, and Ella.

    Sam Gewalt

    Coach

    Samantha “Sam” Gewalt began playing soccer at the age of four and competed at a high level for over 20 years. Throughout her career, she demonstrated versatility and deep game knowledge, with primary positions as goalkeeper and forward, while possessing the ability to play every position on the field.

    Her competitive career started with Team Chicago Soccer Club, where she spent the majority of her club years. During her time there, Sam and her team earned multiple titles, including state championships and a 2nd-place finish at the national level. She later continued her club career with Windy City Pride Soccer Club, competing for two additional seasons.

    Sam attended Minooka Community High School, where she was a four-year varsity starter and earned All-Conference honors.

    She went on to compete at Joliet Junior College from 2014–2016, where she served as team captain for both seasons. As a goalkeeper, Sam made a significant impact and holds the program record for most saves in a single season (221), highlighting her leadership, resilience, and consistency on the field.

    Following her junior college career, Sam transferred to Aurora University, where she continued her academic journey and graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in K-12 Physical Education and Health. Coach Gewalt is the current goalkeeping coach for the Joliet Junior College Women’s Soccer Program.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE FEE?

  • Instruction: Training from Grant Sicard & Dave di Tomasso and their coaching staff
  • Supervision: Staff members are strategically placed throughout the camp to provide optimal supervision and participate in all activities

INSTRUCTION, EQUIPMENT, & FACILITY

  • Ratio: Low camper to coach ratio
  • Groupings: Campers are grouped by age, ability, and experience
  • Equipment Needed: All campers must bring soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shoes, and a water bottle.
  • Facility: Summit Park
  • Medical Protocol: Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital
  • Indoor Air-Conditioned Location: A dedicated space for lunches and a video room, ensuring comfort during breaks.
  • Additional Facilities: Permanent soccer tennis courts, a pool, VEO Instructional cameras, a locker room, and more, providing a diverse and enriching experience.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is not provided. Campers are responsible for getting to and from camp on their own. There is no supervision before or after camp hours so please make arrangements to pick up your child on time.

MEDICAL PROTOCOL

Most camps have an athletic trainer on-site to help with illness or injury. In case of an emergency, campers will be transported to the nearest hospital.
