ESTES BASEBALL FIELD
Located on the east edge of campus, Estes Baseball Field was built in 1968 and was named in honor of Wellborn Estes (Class of 1918), who was a member of the Board of Curators, a Central athlete, and a consistent contributor to Eagle Athletics. The field’s grandstand was donated by William “Bill” Hairston (’33) and was completed in the 90s.
Estes Field has undergone several renovations in recent years, including new field turf and grass in 2012. Nearby is the Radtke Observation Deck, which allows spectators to watch baseball and softball from a unique view.
Central Methodist University hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the newly renovated Estes Field on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 12:00 p.m.
The multi-million dollar project features renovations to both Estes Field and Cox Softball Complex, which began this past summer. The renovations for baseball include; a new turf field, backstops, netting, and bullpens, in addition to a Champion outfield wall, new side fencing and electric.
